The mounting kit is used to prepare a cecropia for display in a display frame (Riker mount) or otherwise.  The board (part of the kit) shown has an atlas moth on it.  The atlas is a member of a loose grouping of moths called the giant silk moths, as is the cecropia.  The atlas mount is using all of the items included in a mounting kit.  The unused items below the board are the same items as shown used in the atlas mount which are included in the kit.

Each kit includes complete instructions, including suggestions for safe chemical-free termination of the moth, and all necessary equipment.  KIT DOES  NOT INCLUDE DISPLAY FRAME (Riker mount) - please order separately.

I am going to add a picture page to the website to walk users through the mounting process as soon as I can.

Mounting kits can be used repetitively.  A word of caution - when a pin is pressed through a plastic strip to hold a wing in place, it forms a nub on one side.  Before using the strip again, press the nub flat, or it may scratch or harm the wings of a subsequent mount.

The groove in the board to hold a cecropia body is very wide.  If you want to use the board to mount a smaller insect, I suggest forming a small groove of appropriate size on the side of the board opposite the side which holds the groove for a cecropia.
